Open source gave me my trade, and I have no intention of telling its story with nostalgia. The model that kept it standing is breaking: LLMs short-circuited the funnel between documentation, brand and revenue, maintainers are left alone with the load, and with frontier models the right to inspect no longer coincides with the right to multiply.
