Digital Sovereignty

Digital sovereignty has become a slogan, and slogans get measured in data centers. I treat it as an architectural question: where the stack lives, whom it depends on, who can switch it off, whether the provenance of the code can be verified. A data center in Milan running American software is not sovereign, and a European service nobody can inspect isn’t either. I write about cloud, about lock-in moving from data to models, and about what Europe could do if it stopped confusing geography with control.
